2015 Singapore Grand Prix Results

September 20, 2015 – Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel took his third victory of the 2015 Formula 1 season after dominating the 13th round in Singapore today in a race that was interrupted by two safety car periods.

Vettel made a good start from pole position and hung on to first place, and he was able to fend off Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo throughout the race to cross the finish line just over 1 second ahead of his rival.

Two safety car periods, the first of which was caused by a collision between Nico Hulkenberg and Felipe Massa, while the second came as a result of a spectator entering the track, helped Ricciardo stay within close range to the leader, but he was never able to get close enough.

Kimi Raikkonen rounded out the podium, finishing behind 15 seconds behind Ricciardo and 7.5 seconds ahead of Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg, who benefited from a mechanical failure for Lewis Hamilton to take fourth place.

Valtteri Bottas finished fifth for Williams, while Daniil Kvyat, who dropped from fourth to sixth after the first safety car period, salvaged sixth.

Despite retiring from the race, Lewis Hamilton leads the championship with 252 points, 41 points clear of his teammate Nico Rosberg, who’s in turn just 8 points ahead of Sebastian Vettel.
