2016 Formula 1 calendar approved by World Motor Sport Council

July 11, 2015 – During the World Motor Sport Council meeting in Mexico City yesterday, the provisional calendar for the 2016 Formula One World Championship was approved.

The new calendar consists of 21 Grand Prix, with the addition of a European Grand Prix in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku.

Some of the biggest changes include the return of the German Grand Prix, and moving the Russian Grand Prix from October to April while the Malaysian Grand Prix moves back from March to September.
