2016 Formula 1 second pre-season test – Day 4 results

March 4, 2016 – The second and final Formula 1 pre-season test concluded today at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya with Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel topping the times.

Vettel recorded 1:22.852 on the red super soft tyres to keep Ferrari on top, whilst Toro Rosso’s Carlos Sainz Jr. set the second fastest time – 0.3 seconds slower than Vettel – on the purple ultra softs.

Ferrari also topped the mileage chart as Vettel managed 142 laps, whilst Mercedes completed 139 laps despite a gearbox problem for Lewis Hamilton at the end of the morning session.

With Vettel leading today, it means Ferrari was fastest on five of the eight testing days overall.
