September 5, 2016 – The dramatic 39th Rally of Lebanon brought the 2016 Lebanese Rally Championship to a conclusion as championship titles in different categories were sealed.
In the overall championship standings, event winner Tamer Ghandour finished first to claim his first ever championship title after a superb season that saw him secure his maiden rally victory in Jezzine.
Eddy Abou Karam, who completed Rally of Lebanon in 3rd place overall, clinched the Group N title on Saturday. Moreover, his result on Sunday elevated him to a provisional 2nd in the Lebanese Rally Championship overall standings.
Bassel Abou Hamdan’s victory in RC3 helped him secure the RC3 class championship title – his second career title, 5 years after his first.
Patrick Njeim finished 3rd in the front-wheel drive category in Rally of Lebanon while his title rival Majed Khoury retired, meaning the RC4 class championship title went to Patrick.
Matthias Njeim reached the finish line at the end of the rally to secure the RC5 class championship title.
