February 14, 2016 – Triple world champion Sebastien Ogier scored his second consecutive victory of 2016 in Rally Sweden this afternoon following a commanding display throughout the weekend in the Volkswagen.
Ogier led from the start and came under threat from Hyundai’s Hayden Paddon on Saturday, but the Frenchman maintained his composure on the final day and crossed the finish line 29 seconds ahead of his rival after winning the power stage.
Paddon scored his maiden WRC podium with 2nd place overall and Mads Ostberg rounded the top 3 in his M-Sport Ford Fiesta, whilst Andreas Mikkelsen settled for fourth overall in the Volkswagen ahead of Ott Tanak (Ford) and Dani Sordo (Hyundai).
Congratulations @SebOgier, winning both Power Stage and Rally Sweden. We have had our discussions, but hats off! 😉 pic.twitter.com/ZkOvpmpKlW
