2016 Red Bull Car Park Drift Lebanon – Live Updates

Hello everyone! This is where we’ll be providing live updates from the 2016 edition of the Red Bull Car Park Drift Lebanese qualifiers that are taking place in Beirut Port tomorrow morning, starting 10:00 AM.


13:12 – The 2016 Lebanese King of Drift is Ahmad Karaki! He wins the hearts of the judges and the crowd after a spectacular show in his BMW E30. Fadi Boustany finished 2nd, followed by Abed Kahwaji in 3rd. 

12:59 – It’s going to be a really hard decision for the judges as all 4 drifters delivered outstanding performances. The winner will be announced in a bit!

12:49 – One of these 4 men will be crowned 2016 Lebanese King of Drift: Ahmad Karaki, Abed Kahwaji, Elias Fakih and Fadi Boustany. That’s 4 BMWs in the 3rd and final heat.

12:33 – Ahmad Karaki is 7th car on track in Heat 2 and he has earned the cheers of the thousands of spectators after a remarkable performance. One more driver left: it’s Rony Al Asmar in the BMW E46.

12:25 – Of the 8 cars currently competing in Heat 2, only 4 will make it to the 3rd and final Heat that will reveal the 2016 Lebanese King of Drift.

12:10 – Fadi Boustany first one out on track as Heat 2 kicks off. In the meantime, Elias Fakih waits for his turn in the service zone.

12:07 – We have the names of the 8 drifters who qualified to Heat 2: Fadi Boustany, Elias Fakih, Kifah Hilal, Abed Kahwaji, Mashaal Kawkab, Bassam Zahalan, Ahmad Karaki and Rony Al Asmar. Hard luck to the rest!

11:49 – We have reached the final car: the #16 BMW E46 M3 of Rony Al Asmar. We will find out the identities of the 8 drivers who qualified to Heat 2 in a few minutes.

11:32 – Oliver Kik successfully finished his attempt in the Chevy-powered Nissan 350Z. Now it’s Bassam Zahalan’s turn in the Toyota GT86. Can he repeat his 2014 triumph?

11:20 – The competition is fierce this morning with most of the drivers having done well so far. We’re at car #9 at the moment: Elias Fakih in the BMW E30.

11:04 – Lots of cheers for Mohammad Baalbaki who’s driving one of the more unique cars today: a Nissan 200SX powered by a Mercedes engine from an E55 AMG.

10:58 – Awesome stuff by Bahaa Abdel Hadi in the BMW E36. Do not underestimate this one: he’s won the final round of the Lebanese Drift Championship and ranked 4th in the standings.

10:53 – Fouad Mexacy in the #3 BMW E30 just completed his run. 8 out of the 16 competitors should qualify to the 2nd round, while 4 of those 8 will qualify to the 3rd and final round.

10:40 – Brilliant run by Fadi who will now be followed by Kifah Hilal in the #2 BMW E30.

10:35 – Car #1, Fadi Boustany’s BMW E46 has joined the track and the action starts now!

09:50 – Hundreds of crowds have shown up to Beirut Port to witness the action. LBCI are now live as well, so if TV’s an option for you, you know where to tune in.

09:15 – The competitors have left the Parc Ferme in Beirut Port and headed towards Annahar building for a parade lap ahead of the start of the show at 10:00 AM.

08:30 – There’s been a car switch for a couple of drivers with Bassam Zahalan set to compete in David Abou Jaoude’s Toyota GT86 and Kifah Hilal in Fadi Bou Chahine’s BMW E30.

08:25 – Good morning everyone! We’re at the Red Bull Car Park Drift venue at the moment. All  16 cars are in Parc Ferme and being prepped for the big event that kicks off in less than 2 hours.
