2016 Singapore Grand Prix Race Results

September 18, 2016 – Mercedes’s Nico Rosberg took back the championship lead from his team-mate Lewis Hamilton by 8 points after a dominant weekend in Singapore in which he claimed pole position and led throughout the race.

Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo took 2nd place after a superb and consistent drive to finish just 0.4 seconds off the lead. Hamilton had to settle for 3rd place after a great battle with Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen.

Four times world champion, Sebastien Vettel fought from the back to finish among the top 5 after delivering great pace throughout the race while the young star, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen recovered from a slow start to finish in P6.

McLaren’s Fernando Alonso benefited from the incidents at the start to deliver a great race as well and score some valuable points finishing 7th. Perez, Kvyat and Magnussen completed the top 10.

Frenchman Romain Grosjean wasn’t able to start the race from the pit lane due to mechanical problems in his Haas. Unlucky Hulkenberg had to be sandwiched between two Toro Rossos at the start, eventually leading him to spin and crash into the wall.

McLaren’s Jenson Button and Williams’ Valtteri Bottas also had to retire from the race due to mechanical problems.
