April 9, 2017 – Thierry Neuville gave Hyundai its first victory of the 2017 World Rally Championship as he powered to the Tour de Corse triumph today in Corsica, France.
Neuville was running third behind Citroen’s Kris Meeke and M-Sport’s Sebastien Ogier at the end of Day 1. However, an engine failure for Meeke after SS6 helped the Hyundai driver inherit the lead as he jumped Ogier following a superb performance on Day 2. He continued to shine on the third and final day to take the win by 54 seconds.
Dani Sordo made it a Hyundai 1-3 as he ended up just 1 second behind Ogier, who settled for 2nd place overall, whilst Toyota’s Jari-Matti Latvala beat Citroen’s Craig Breen to fourth place by 0.1 seconds only.
