2025 Ford Expedition Tremor: Off-Road Adventure Awaits

The 2025 Ford Expedition Tremor debuts with enhanced off-road features, replacing the Timberline trim while incorporating parts from the F-150 Raptor.

Large families need space, and the Ford Expedition delivers with its three-row SUV design. But for those who seek adventure off the beaten path, Ford now offers the 2025 Expedition Tremor, an off-road-ready version designed to excel beyond paved roads.

Tremor Replaces Timberline Trim

For the 2025 model year, the Tremor badge makes its way onto the Expedition, replacing the previous Timberline trim. This marks the first time the Tremor name appears on a Ford vehicle without a cargo bed. Despite the change in name, the Expedition Tremor retains elements of its predecessor, including components borrowed from the F-150 Raptor.

The Tremor offers rugged protection underneath, with skid plates shielding both the transfer case and fuel tank, and a front bash plate similar to the Raptor’s heavy-duty guard. The suspension and steering have been specially retuned for off-road performance, and the Tremor rides on 33-inch General Grabber all-terrain tires mounted on 18-inch wheels—an upgrade over the Timberline’s previous tires.

Additional Tremor details include LED lights integrated into the updated grille, accented by wing-like daytime running lights, and orange-painted tow hooks on the front bumper. Sturdy side steps inspired by the Raptor make getting in and out easier, while the increased ride height gives the Tremor 10.6 inches of ground clearance—perfect for navigating rugged terrain.

Modernized Interior Design

Inside, the Expedition Tremor features a redesigned dashboard, highlighted by a massive 24.0-inch digital display complemented by a 13.2-inch touchscreen in the center. Powered by the Ford Digital Experience, the infotainment system uses Google-based software, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Tremor comes with a standard wheelbase configuration, offering seating across three rows. New features include device holders mounted on the front headrests for second-row passengers, and a power-sliding center console that provides added flexibility by sliding back up to eight inches. The rear cargo area includes a split-folding liftgate that doubles as a bench, while the rearmost seats now have a 40/20/40 split for improved cargo versatility.

High Performance Meets Off-Road Capabilities

The Expedition Tremor is powered by a high-output twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine, delivering an impressive 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. Previously only available on the top-tier Platinum trim, this engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. It also includes an electronically locking rear differential, along with exclusive off-road modes like Rock Crawl, one-pedal driving for low-speed obstacles, and Trail Turn Assist for enhanced maneuverability.
