The 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 offers a naturally aspirated engine, manual transmission, and enhanced aerodynamics for an exceptional driving experience.
The 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 has arrived, celebrating 25 years of the iconic model. This latest version, known as the 992.2, continues to showcase Porsche’s signature naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine, delivering an exhilarating 502 horsepower at 9,000 RPM. Along with its power, the 911 GT3 features a standard 6-speed manual transmission, although a 7-speed dual-clutch option is also available.
Despite facing stricter emissions standards, Porsche has kept the GT3’s internal combustion engine intact. The engine now features two gas-particulate filters and four catalytic converters, along with performance upgrades like improved camshafts from the GT3 RS, new throttle bodies, and enhanced oil coolers. These updates ensure the GT3 delivers thrilling performance while complying with modern regulations.
Porsche has refined the suspension, applying lessons from the GT3 RS. Aero-shaped suspension links improve front downforce and brake cooling, while modifications to the front suspension geometry help reduce dive during braking. These changes contribute to a more stable aerodynamic platform. The new design also incorporates a revised diffuser, engine cover lid, and inlets to balance the increased front downforce.
The GT3 now features updated tires, measuring 255/35ZR20 in the front and 315/30ZR21 in the rear, enhancing wet-weather performance. The new standard wheels reduce unsprung weight, while a stickier, track-focused tire option is available for those seeking more grip.
The Weissach Package, previously seen on RS models, is now available for the GT3. This package includes carbon-fiber components such as the roof, anti-roll bars, and mirror caps, and unlocks the option for lighter magnesium wheels.
For a more understated look, Porsche offers the GT3 Touring Package, which removes the rear wing. The Touring model can be further enhanced with the Leichtbau (lightweight) package, featuring carbon-fiber suspension components, a body-colored carbon-fiber roof, magnesium wheels, and a shorter shift lever from the 911 S/T. Additionally, for the first time, rear seats are an option on the GT3 Touring.
Inside, the GT3 receives updates similar to those in the new 911 Carrera, but it retains an ignition switch rather than a push-button start. The new carbon-fiber bucket seats feature folding backrests and optional heating, providing a balance of comfort and performance.
With a curb weight of just 3,130 pounds, the 2025 911 GT3 remains impressively light for a modern high-performance car. The base price is now $224,495, a significant increase from the 2023 model’s $171,500, though finding one at that price will likely be a challenge due to high demand.
Over its 25-year history, the GT3 has transformed from a niche homologation special to one of the most desirable 911 models. The 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 continues this legacy, offering a perfect blend of power, precision, and timeless appeal.
