2025 Toyota GR Corolla TC Race Car Unveiled

Toyota’s GR Corolla TC race car will debut in 2025 with enhanced brakes, suspension, and aerodynamics, ready to compete in the TC America series.

The Toyota GR Corolla TC is set to make its racing debut in 2025, bringing an enhanced version of the popular all-wheel-drive hot hatch to the track. With upgraded brakes, suspension, and aerodynamics, this race car is built to compete at a high level.

Toyota, deeply embedded in motorsports across the globe, participates in events ranging from Formula 1, NASCAR, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans to grassroots competitions like the single-make GR Cup series for the GR86 sports car. Recently, Toyota introduced the GR Corolla TC at a special event held at the GR Garage in Mooresville, North Carolina. The GR Corolla TC will bridge the gap between the GR86 Cup racer and the Supra GT4, slotting into Toyota’s racing lineup.

The GR Corolla TC will compete in the TC America series, organized by SRO. This race car is based on the production GR Corolla, utilizing the same 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, eight-speed automatic transmission, and GR-Four all-wheel-drive system. While the road-going version boasts 300 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque for the 2025 model year, Toyota has yet to confirm the exact power output for the race car version.

Significant Upgrades for Race Performance

At Toyota’s GR Garage, where the GR86 Cup cars are also built, the GR Corolla TC will receive a series of significant upgrades. The race car will feature Alcon six-piston front and two-piston rear brakes, custom MacPherson struts designed by Gazoo Racing, and dual-adjustable shocks from JRi.

A Bosch Motorsports electronics system will handle the vehicle’s drivetrain, power distribution, and ABS, while the interior will be equipped with an FIA-approved roll cage, an OMP fiberglass racing seat with a six-point harness, and an OMP fire-extinguishing system.

The GR Corolla TC’s body will be optimized for aerodynamics, sporting a prominent rear wing, rear diffuser, and front splitter to enhance downforce.

The TC America series, where the GR Corolla TC will compete, is a new racing division launching in 2025. This series combines the former TCX and TC classes, creating a unified competition for cars like the GR Corolla. Toyota has announced that further details regarding the GR Corolla TC’s specifications and pricing will be released soon.
