Toyota is bringing back retro flair with the 2026 Corolla Hatchback FX, a limited-edition model that pays homage to the iconic 1987 FX16. While a Corolla FX sedan already exists, the hatchback version feels like a more authentic tribute in both design and spirit.
Based on the Corolla Hatchback SE trim, the FX edition features bold styling upgrades. These include a black vented rear wing, heritage-style rear badging, and standout 18-inch gloss-white alloy wheels paired with black lug nuts. Available exterior colors include Blue Crush Metallic, Ice Cap, and Inferno—each adding a sporty edge to the compact hatch.
Performance remains unchanged. Under the hood is Toyota’s reliable 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 169 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque, paired with an estimated 33 mpg combined fuel economy.
Inside, the FX model gets unique touches like orange contrast stitching across the seats, steering wheel, shift boot, and door panels. The new black Sport Touring Seats feature suede inserts designed for better grip and comfort. A wireless charger is included as standard equipment.

Unlike its sedan sibling, which gets a 10.5-inch infotainment screen, the FX hatch retains the Corolla’s standard 8.0-inch display. Still, the package feels exclusive and well-thought-out.
Toyota plans to produce just 1,600 units of the 2026 Corolla Hatchback FX, making it a rare find for fans of retro styling and hatchback practicality. Expect these models to arrive at dealerships starting in the fall.
