Nissan introduces the ninth generation of the Sentra with a bold new look and updated tech features. As the compact sedan market becomes more competitive, the 2026 Sentra aims to turn heads with a refreshed exterior that reflects the brand’s latest design language.
Inspired by the Murano and Leaf, the updated styling focuses on aerodynamics and visual appeal. The front fascia now features a softer shape with a grille and headlights that flow seamlessly together for a sharper and more modern appearance. A newly defined character line runs from the front to the rear spoiler, giving the car a more dynamic profile.
Although the design gives the impression of a larger car, the dimensions remain nearly the same. The wheelbase is slightly shorter, but the overall length has increased just a bit. Nissan says these changes are intended to enhance efficiency and refine the vehicle’s proportions.
Inside, the new Sentra receives a tech upgrade. Every model now features a large 12.3 inch center touchscreen, while upper trims also gain a 12.3 inch digital gauge cluster. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included on higher trims, while the base trim continues to use the wired versions.
Additional improvements include dedicated haptic controls for climate and audio functions and a more refined interior layout. The cabin updates help modernize the space while maintaining user-friendly features.
The 2.0 liter four cylinder engine remains, producing the same power as before. However, the continuously variable transmission has been recalibrated for smoother performance. A new Sport mode in select trims adds quicker throttle response.
Nissan also reinforced the chassis and steering components to improve ride quality and reduce noise. The new Sentra is expected to arrive at dealerships later this year with full details to follow soon.
