2026 Toyota GR Corolla Gains New Features and Tech

The 2026 Toyota GR Corolla arrives with a few updates that improve both performance and comfort while keeping the hot hatch’s signature driving experience intact. This new model adds some structural and feature upgrades without changing the core formula fans love.

Toyota has enhanced chassis rigidity by applying extra structural adhesive throughout the front and rear sections of the car. This helps improve body stiffness and rear traction. To support the 1.6 liter turbocharged three cylinder engine, a new air intake has also been added to improve cooling during high performance driving.

Power output remains unchanged with 300 horsepower and 295 pound feet of torque going to all four wheels. Drivers can still choose between a six speed manual or an eight speed automatic transmission paired with the advanced all wheel drive system.

The Premium Plus trim sees the biggest changes for 2026. It now includes a nine speaker JBL audio system which adds Active Sound Control. This system produces simulated engine noise inside the cabin adding another layer to the driving experience. The audio feature may be a fun touch for some and an acquired taste for others.

Other standout features on the Premium Plus model include a carbon fiber roof a head up display and heated front seats and steering wheel. Red contrast stitching replaces the previous gray giving the cabin a sportier look.

The updated GR Corolla continues to deliver sharp handling strong performance and practical usability. The latest additions refine the formula without taking away from what makes it exciting. These changes make the 2026 GR Corolla more appealing to both new buyers and returning fans of Toyota’s performance division.

Toyota confirms the new GR Corolla will arrive at dealerships in the fall making it available very soon for hot hatch enthusiasts.
