$37 million worth of cars destroyed in Spectre

October 6, 2015 – 37 million US dollars worth of Aston Martin supercars were destroyed in the filming of an extremely short scene for the upcoming James Bond movie, Spectre, revealed the film’s chief stunt coordinator Gary Powell.

James Bond’s official vehicle for the new movie is the Aston Martin DB10, a concept car designed exclusively for Spectre and of which only 10 were produced. However, seven of these 10 were completely destroyed in the movie – an all-time record in terms of the overall value of destroyed cars.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Powell said: “We set the record for smashing up cars on Spectre. In Rome, we wrecked millions of pounds worth. They were going into the Vatican at top speeds of 110 mph. We shot one entire night for four seconds of film.”

Spectre is expected to hit the movie theaters on November 6; enjoy the movie’s final trailer until then.
