June 7, 2016 – In 2014, Mark Higgins drove a near-stock Subaru WRX STI to a four-wheel lap record in the Isle of Man TT, one of the most dangerous motorcycle racing events in the world.
A couple of days ago, Higgins broke the record once again in a modified Subaru WRX STI that’s good for 600 horsepower. He completed the lap in 17 minutes 49.75 seconds – which is more than a minute quicker than his 2014 record (19:15.88) – at an average speed of 207 km/h.

The modded Subaru WRX STI, which was prepared by Prodrive, benefits from a larger turbocharger, a revised suspension setup, a drag reduction system and competition-spec tires.
The all-time record is held by motorcycle rider Michael Dunlop who did it in 16 minutes 58.254 seconds last month.
