Team Lebanon consisting of six drivers in six different categories made it to Brazil last week to compete in the finals of the Rotax Max Challenge championship.
Lebanese Rally Champion Roger Feghali was representing his country in the DD2 masters category. 7 times Lebanese Karting champion Matthias Njeim was competing the DD2 class. As for the Senior class, it was represented by 3 times Lebanese Karting Champion Carl Rizk.
Our youngsters Charbel Yammine, Sami-Joe Abi Nakhle & Christopher Feghali represented the Junior, MicroMax & MiniMax categories respectively.
After a thrilling week full of practice and qualifying sessions, 3 of our drivers made it to the Final Race.
And who better to describe the race of the 3 drivers better than themselves?
Matthias Njeim: “After a tough week we managed to climb up from 19th to 10th on track in the Final! A small penalty would push us down to 11th though. I’m happy with this result and even happier with how much I have learnt in this past week! Thank you to everyone who was with us this past week, in Brazil or supporting from Home, Pit Stop Karting, ATCL Motorsports, and finally KMS Europe team and the big boss Peter Kalman for the very professional and perfect work provided for us! Hope to be back fighting for even better results next year”
Christopher Feghali as his father Abdo Feghali states: “Super proud & overjoyed by the #stunning performance of my super boy @christopherfeghali in the #rotax #grandfinals in #brazil
Starting from 33rd position & finishing 9th overall overtaking 24 cars in 12 laps & setting the 2nd fastest lap in the race between 36 #micromax #champions from all over the #world
