Jordan 2011 Ramadan Karting Challenge round 1 results

In pictures check out all you need to know about the round 1 that took place last week.

Similar to every year the Ramadan Karting challenge took place in Jordan and saw some big participation from Lebanese drivers. The tournament that is classified into 2 categories; seniors and juniors took place on the 11th of August. The tournament organized by local karting Champion, Hamza Dirani has become one of the most important karting challenges in the region despite being an unofficial qualifying tournament. Local Jordanian participants though, gain points from the championship which help their cause in the local championship, while foreign drivers are classified race by race and are rewarded with regards to their final finish in every race.

The senior category saw the participation of 10 drivers after the withdrawal of Lebanese champion Chant Etyemezian due to his dissatisfaction of the car. The featured 10 drivers though saw 2 Lebanese youngsters participating; Youssed Jammal and Carl Massad who finished 5th and 6th respectively. The win went to the talented Jordanian driver Omar Farrah, while 2nd place went to Izz Bustami and 3rd Place went to Othman Abou Samra.

The junior category saw the participation of 4 drivers including Lebanese young starlet Rubens Bouchabkeh who dominated the race and scored the fastest lap in addition to finishing first. Rubens was then demoted to second place after some controversy over the weight of his car. Nafe Jarrar ended up winning the event and followed by Ghassan Abu Hassan.

The competition saw the participation of 3 females. Nour Doughlah in the Junior Category in addition to Ayah Doughlah and Terry Farah in the senior Category.
