A Statement by: Mahmoud Z. Tannir
”This is the best start of the season for me, after qualifying in first position, I managed to finish 2nd in race1 and to win in race 2 on my Triumph Daytona. I am very happy with this result, specially that I had some technical problems with tires and suspension all day long, but manged to ride around them.
Last season I finished 3rd in the championship and the aim now is to win, but unfortunately I am competing without any sponsors or support this year and it would
be a shame not to be able to compete the whole season as I feel strong enough to fight for the title, but to do this without a financial support is not possible.
Being the only Lebanese to do this sport and being competitive outside Lebanon is very encouraging but I would like to take this opportunity to ask the Lebanese Federation for their support to be able to represent Lebanon in this championship and hopefully others”.
I hope that the Lebanese Motorsport Federation would see the benefit in supporting a Lebanese rider to market themselves and to show that we can also be competitive in superbike racing and also to encourage youngsters to take a professional approach to this sport, and hopefully raise awareness about riding safe on the streets.
The next round will take place on Friday 21st of October and I will try my best to win again, provided I can find a sponsor and participate.
