The new Hellcat Bike -C3 X132 (pictures)

A bike with the name hellcat on it should be very interesting – read more…

This new Hellcat is tough to the core. Don’t let the minimalist design mislead you, this thing’s a million miles from flimsy.

At its heart is a massive (for a bike) 2.1-litre engine with 145lb ft of torque. A motor capable of that amount of twist mounted in a bike that weighs 215kg gives it one of the highest rear- wheel-torque-to-weight ratios in the world.

Supercars included. So if you need grunt, it’ll give you grunt, using a transmission derived from drag bikes; the only thing strong enough to stop things bending at full power.

And to stop all that twist from shredding the motor, Confederate has built it tough. Where other engines might use metal alloys for lightness, the Hellcat’s uses as much steel as possible. It might add a few pounds, but it’ll also survive a nuclear winter, or a full-throttle burnout.

But whatever weight he engine gains is lost in the bodywork — the main material here is light-but- strong aircraft-grade aluminum. It’s a lesson in minimalism, with an industrial twist. Nothing is here unless it needs to be, pared back to be as lean and purposeful as a knuckle-duster.

And if you’d like to import one from the States, it’ll cost you around 35000 $. Come on, go and make that call, try not to kill yourself driving it.
