Amiouni’s career so far has been moving in an upward slope since the beginning, despite the road being bumpy in the course. After the win in this year’s 1st national rally in Jordan, Amiouni has took a lot of weight off his shoulder and is looking into a promising continuation of his career. The first win is always difficult and things become easier, simply you start learning how to win. Amiouni’s win nevertheless was aided by the retirement of multiple rally champion Roger Feghali due to mechanical problems, on the his EVO 10 which was driven for the first time on Jordanian gravel, after being used on Lebanese tarmac. Amiouni took his EVO 9 R4 kit to its first win in Jordan and has put the Jordanian drivers on bay on their own home soil. After Roger’s retirement Amiouni had to battle with Jordanian driver Alaa Khalifa and teammate Nick Georgiou and was able to beat them. The victory comes with added value being able to win over his more experienced teammate. Driving alongside side his usual co-driver, Chadi Beyrouthi, the pair where able to win building on the category (Group N) win they scored last year in the WRC Jordan 2011. Mazen Tanatash a usual Jordanian contender was able to finish the Rally third after the disappointment of his last local rally participation last year wen he crashed few meter before the finish line.
Battles in local Jordanian rallies have been on the second position in the past years due to the dominance of Roger Feghali. The retirment of Roger stirred up the competition and Amiouni was the man to snatch the opportunity, simply because he may have wanted it the most.
Congratulations to Nicolas Amiouni, Chadi Beyrouthi and MotorTune for the win in Jordan.
More to come from Jordan… Stay tuned!!!
