Joe Ghanem ends epic weekend with a championship win

It is not easy for any racing driver in the world to take part in 4 races on the same day. It is not easy also when these races relate to different categories, but to take part and be triumphant, that is something for us to respect. Joe Ghanem leading both the FG 1000 championship and the Maserati Trofeo Middle East championship had races in both these competitions yesterday and was obliged to take a big challenge and drive in both. He did it and came on top.

On his facebook page Joe labelled the day as not easy stating his record as follows: “4 races, 2 pole positions, 1 race win, 2 P2s and 1 DNF a trip to race control and to seal it all a Championship win….one more championship to win in two weeks time.”

Joe won the first race in the FG 1000 championship which is round 9 and finished round 10 in second place behind Natasha Seatter who became the first woman to win a UAE national race.

In the Maserati Trofeo Middle East championship Joe has a more a difficult time. He had to retire from race after Patrick Zamparini hit him and drove him out of the track and in race 2 he stayed composed and finished 2nd to seal the win.

Joe clinched the championship way before it ends.  The Maserati Trofeo Middle East still has 4 races to go.

Veteran Lebanese racing driver Zeehog (Ziad Ghandour) finished yesterday’s 2 races in 3rd place and now lies 2nd int he championship.
