2013 SRT Viper unveiled in New York

The long-awaited SRT Viper made its public debut at the New York Auto Show tonight, making its highly anticipated return to the sports car market.

The new Viper keeps the traditional and iconic design which includes an elongated sleek hood and a short boot, while introducing new aggressive front and rear fascias.

It is powered by a mid-engine 8.4 liter V10 unit, delivering an estimated 640 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque – the most torque of any naturally aspirated sports car engine in the world. Just like with the previous generation, the high-performance engine is linked to a six-speed manual gearbox.

The structural rigidity on the car has improved by a staggering 50%, while also reducing weight.
The car incorporates many safety features such as electronic multistage stability control, traction control and new 4-channel anti-lock brake system.

Inside, red leather seats intertwined with a black dashboard and completely new center console form a high-quality cabin.
