The Ford Mustang Boss 302S

When you go circuit racing you need the right equipment so be careful choose this mustang to do so…

Do you fancy circuit Racing with a modern Ford Mustang? Us neither. Unless we’re talking about Ford Racing’s Mustang Boss 302S, which looks as if it might knock your teeth out if you refused.

Created to replace the FR500S and unveiled at the Performance Racing Industry show, the 302S sits between the Boss 302 Laguna Seca (T6209) and the Boss 302R racer that competes in the ‘Grand-Am’ series.

It gets a 5.0-litre V8 with 440bhp, mated to a standard drivetrain. Most of the interior has been removed in order to shed weight, weight instantly replaced by a roll cage. There’s also a set of racer add-ons: a HANS-equipped seat, six-point belts, adjustable damping and big Brembo brakes.

The body mods also add speed, if not subtlety — a fiber glass bonnet with extra vents, an adjustable chin spoiler and a humongous rear wing.

All the things you’ll find necessary to race in the SCCA ‘World’ [sic] Challenge, or NASA’s ‘American Iron’ series. We may laugh, but the 302S weighs in at $79,000 from Ford Racing.

Good price eh!!!
