Eight times world champion Sebastien Loeb took the lead of Rally Argentina by winning stage five.
Petter Solberg was enjoying a comfortable 20-second lead until he broke his Ford’s steering arm near the end of stage four, and eventually had to retire from the leg.
Loeb had three spins during the first two stages which had left him down in fourth place, behind Petter Solberg, Mikko Hirvonen and Dani Sordo.
Solberg’s mishap and a set-up change, helped Loeb take the lead while pushing his teammate Miko Hirvonen, who admitted his lack of pace in SS5, to second place.
Dani Sordo moves up to 3rd place and stays within contention as he trails the leader by a mere 13.5 seconds, while Mads Otsberg inherits fourth place from Thierry Neuville after substantial damages to his car forced him to stop.
Nasser Al-Attiyah’s excellent form continues in Rally Argentina, the Qatari driver is 5th overall after SS5.
