SEAT has released the first official photos and information of their all-new third generation SEAT Leon; the Spanish hatchback will make its public debut during the Paris Auto Show in September.
The new Leon takes design cues from the IBE Concept as well as its smaller sibling the Ibiza and will be available in three different body styles including a three-door version in addition to an estate variant.
Inside, the third-gen Leon heavily resembles the Audi A4 but with less gizmos and detailing. SEAT claims the materials and attention to details are at least as good as you can find in the segment above.
A variety of four gasoline engine options is available: a 1.2-liter TSI with two different outputs, 85-horsepower or 104-hp, a 1.4-liter TSI with 120-hp and a 1.8-liter TSI unit producing 178-hp. Engines are mated to five and six-speed manual gearboxes or six and seven-speed DSG dual-clutch gearboxes.
Fuel efficiency has decreased by 22 percent on the new Leon thanks to the use of lightweight materials which reduced the car’s overall weight by 90 kilograms compared to its predecessor.
