Greenpeace Creates New Campaign Against Volkswagen

Greenpeace recently launched a new campaign that makes fun of the Volkswagen Group and to be more precise, its upcoming Golf MK7, which is set to make its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show at the end of September.

The non-governmental environmental organization has posted a satirical video featuring a “journalist” and a “VW executive” discussing the “greener” Golf MK7 Jedi Edition which returns a 1-liter/100km fuel economy for the petrol engine and 0.89-liter/100km for the hybrid diesel while also emitting “75% less CO2 emissions than your average car”.

Alongside the video, Greenpeace has launched a dedicated website for the “VW Golf 7 Jedi Edition”, which includes a countdown timer to the car’s big reveal on September 4 in Berlin.

But why is Greenpeace doing all of that? because and according to an article posted on its website “Volkswagen is at the heart of a group of companies lobbying against new laws which we need to cut CO2 emissions, reduce our oil use and protect places like the Arctic from climate change”.

“Only a rebellion can stop them – a mass of people from all across the globe – demanding that they change. We need you to be part of that rebellion.”
