Sebastien Loeb extended his lead during Saturday morning of Rally Deutschland. The Frenchman took advantage of changing conditions to increase the gap from 20 seconds to 1 minute and a half.
Despite having an off moment and dropping back to fifth, Jari-Matti Latvala managed to climb back to second as Petter Solberg, Dani Sordo and Thierry Neuville all hit trouble through the long 46-kilometer SS9.
Solberg stopped with damage to the right rear of his Fiesta, Neuville crashed out and Sordo suffered a puncture. All of the drama elevated Mikko Hirvonen to third.
Mads Ostberg currently holds fourth position ahead of M-Sport driver Ott Tanak in fifth.
