Sebastien Loeb claimed his ninth win in Germany and seventh of the season during the ninth round of the 2012 World Rally Championship. Loeb’s consistency throughout the 3 days, especially during Saturday’s rainfall, helped him earn a comfortable and dominant victory.
Jari-Matti Latvala finished second, 2 minutes behind Loeb, and around 30 seconds ahead of Loeb’s Citroen teammate Mikko Hirvonen who struggled throughout the event.
Mads Ostberg’s composed and flawless drive secured him a fourth-place finish.
Numerous drivers took advantage of yesterday’s drama, including Chris Atkinson who took a surprise fifth place on his first outing with Motorsport Italia Mini, and the two Volkswagen Motorsport drivers Sebastien Ogier and Andreas Mikkelsen who finished sixth and seventh.
Ott Tanak came away with a ninth-place finish despite crashing out yesterday afternoon, with Nasser Al-Attiyah surging back from a low thirteenth to finish an impressive eighth on his WRC return.
