Dani Pedrosa secured his third win of the season after an epic last-lap battle with title rival Jorge Lorenzo in Brno. Pedrosa and Lorenzo swapped positions four times on the penultimate lap before the former finally managed to pull away on the final corner.
Tech 3 Yamaha’s Cal Crutchlow took his first-ever podium finish in MotoGP, and the first for a Briton since 2000, after claiming third place ahead of Andrea Dovizioso, with Valentino Rossi failing to maintain his qualifying performance and dropped from fourth to seventh.
LCR Honda rider Stefan Bradl and Gresini Honda rider Alvaro Bautista finished fifth and sixth respectively, as Ben Spies endured another tough race after crashing out on Lap 8.
Pedrosa closed in on Lorenzo in the championship standings and is now just 13 points behind.
