(Rally Of Lebanon 2010, Sourat)
Its second time this season we chat with Joseph Hindy, but this time we talk more closely about the Spring rally next Saturday and some details concerning his preparations.
Joseph seems prepared more than ever for the upcoming rally, his car seems to be in the best possible situation and he is very comfortable with the way things are going. “The team has been preparing well this season. Tony Germany is giving all his time for preparation and I believe that we are more prepared than before.” Explains Joseph.
Joseph is also very comfortable with being a member of the TG rally skills adding that the relationship with Tony Germany has been excellent ever since he joined the team. “The nice thing about Tony is that he helps you improve yourself and your skills. He gives you the right time and space to do so.”
Hindy believes that he is ready on the personal level and he believes that the rally is the right place to show that he has done his homework. Although Joseph believes that he should have started 10 years ago and wishes that this was the case, the experience he gained in the past two years has been very valuable and the time has come to translate it and show his ability.
When asked about his direct competitors in the Spring rally Joseph answers, “Well I’m not going to go into naming fellow drivers, but what I can say is that last year I was competing with myself and trying to learn. This year I want to challenge the people that were ahead of me, because of their experience, and there are many drivers that lie in that category.”
Joseph was forced to find a new co driver 10 days before the start of the last edition of the rally of Lebanon. He hooked up with the very experienced and talented Ziad Chehab at the last moment and took with challenge of ROL with caution. This year he feels that he is very comfortable with Ziad. Joseph believes that the relationship is now more like a friendship, and not just a driver – Co driver relationship. “Ziad is one of the top co drivers in Lebanon and my relationship with him is evolving in very nice pattern. Ziad has very good nature he is always there to help, and he is able to give me a lot of support because of his great experience in rallying.” Joseph says. Joseph seems very fond of Ziad and believes that this is right combination of success.
Hindy has a very tough work schedule in Dubai where is established with his family. He is finding it very challenging to cope with time and keep going with his rallying career. And although many factors are making it hard for him to increase the number of his participations he didn’t dismiss the idea saying. “If the right time and sponsor are there I will try to compete in international rallies. Many factors should play a role in this and I hope we can do it in future. I might be participating in the Syrian rally this year if the rally is done on tarmac.”
