Interview, Pictures and Video Osmat El Saify 2012 Lebanese Speed Test Champion

Osmat, Congratulations on your championship win, after years of participation, you finally took advantage of this year’s opportunity, tell us how are you feeling?

Thank you. Thank God it was pretty good, I got disqualified on my first run because of a mechanical failure, we had other plans, but everything worked out fine in the end. We focused on our second run in order to clinch the championship, and everything went as expected.

You changed your car and your team, fill us in.

Honestly, no team has given me what I fully want yet.

What is the main reason behind the change?

We’re always looking for the better, something that will move us closer to the top.

Why did you choose a prototype car? You were pretty close in the Group N car as well?

The championship is not my only aim, I wanted to challenge Abdo Feghali, and I did. I had a different strategy planned if it weren’t for my bad luck during the first run.

What are you plans for next year?

We’re preparing a prototype Evo VI for next year, we’re still undecided on the team, though everything else is ready from a strong sponsor to the equipment, the car is going to be great.

We’ll be only taking part in Speed Tests and Hill Climbs, away from Rallying in order to focus on the former two.

Why were you absent on the Hill Climb championship this year? Was it the absence of a sponsor?

There are no sponsors for Hill Climbs or Rallying, I’m even contesting the Speed Tests without any.
