A new batch of spy shots have surfaced on the internet a few days ago, showing BMW’s upcoming hybrid coupe, the i8, cold weather testing in Europe, still under heavy camouflage.
BMW’s been tampering with the car ever since the concept came out, with the new set of shots revealing a more production-ready exterior, including revised side windows and doors.
The hybrid sports coupe packs a 1.5-liter turbo three-cylinder gasoline engine with 220 horsepower driving the rear wheels, and an electric motor developing 130 hp pushing the front wheels, bringing the car’s total output to 350 horsepower.
The Bavarian company claims the sports car can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in under 5 seconds while returning an average fuel consumption of 3 liters per 100 kilometers.
It is expected to make its first public appearance some time next year, followed by the i8 Spyder in 2014.
