Group B: the golden era of rallying

In 1982, the World Rally Championship saw the introduction of Group B regulations, imposing very few restrictions on technology, and spawning some of the fiercest and most sophisticated rally cars to date.

Audi’s Quattro A1, Lancia’s Delta S4 and Peugeot’s 205 T16 were some of these cars, and whoever saw them race back in the day was truly lucky. Unfortunately, Group B was killed off at the end of 1986 mainly due to the rally cars’ uncontrollable nature, and the resulted tragedies.

Now, with almost no hope of a Group B comeback, we can only share videos. Check out the footage below and behold the sheer speed and power of the legendary cars.
