Arab drivers are faring well at the 2013 Dakar Rally up till now, most notably, Qatari driver and 8-times Middle East Rally Champion Nasser Al-Attiyah who’s holding second place overall at the moment.
Al-Attiyah has been very consistent throughout the rally so far; he went quickest of all on yesterday’s stage three, more than 1 minute clear of current leader Stephane Peterhansel.
The Red Bull Buggy driver is eyeing his second Dakar win – with the first one taken in 2011.
Emirati driver Abdulla El Heraiz, who’s also in the cars category, has been putting on an impressive performance as well. He moved up from 56th overall to 48th, with Moroccan rider Harite Gabari also on the move, from 75th to 68th.
