A new R10 supercar is currently being developed by German premium automaker Audi, according to a new report by TopSpeed.
The American website previously reported that Audi is working on a new supercar based on the R18 Le Mans-winning racecar – to be called the R20; but new rumors suggest the car being called the R10.
Audi’s R10 is rumored to have a hybrid powertrain, combining a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine powering the rear wheels and a pair of electric motors driving the front wheels, with total output surpassing 600 horsepower.
The R10 will most likely sit above the second-generation R8, making it the company’s flagship supercar.
