Rally Portugal 2013: Ogier in the lead, Ostberg and Sordo out

Sebastien Ogier maintained his lead going into the second day of Rally Portugal 2013. The Volkswagen driver was 3.9 seconds behind Mads Ostberg, but inherited the lead when the Ford driver crashed out on the third special stage.

Ogier lost 8 seconds to Citroen rival Dani Sordo on SS4, but the Frenchman managed to extend his lead to 4.4 seconds on Friday’s final stage, that is before Sordo crashed out on Saturday’s first special stage.

This puts Jari-Matti Latvala in second place, followed by Citroen’s Mikko Hirvonen in third.

Thierry Neuville was also one of the unfortunate drivers this morning; having enjoyed a comfortable fourth position ahead of M-Sport Ford team-mates Evgeny Novikov and Nasser Al-Attiyah, the Belgian driver retired after hitting a rock, therefore handing fourth place to Novikov.
