Black Falcon quickest in first Qualifying for 24 hours of Nurburgring

Following an extremely wet training session which saw Rowe Racing‘s Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 take the top spot by a full second from one of the Audi R8 LMS ultra of the Belgian Audi Club Team WRT, the action resumed once again on Friday night as the first qualifying session for the 2013 edition of the 24 hours of Nurburgring kicked off.

On a gradually drying track, Black Falcon‘s Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 – driven by Andril Lebed, Andreas Simonsen, Dennis Rostek and Harald Proczyc – posted the quickest time of all, a 8:39.989, which kept the team on top of the standings with more than half an hour to go.

In second place came Schulze Motorsport‘s Nissan GT-R GT3 with a 8:41.767 laptime – 1.778 seconds down on the Black Falcon SLS AMG GT3 – followed by Abt Team Mamerow‘s Audi R8 LMS ultra.

The #19 BMW Z4 GT3 was the best-placed Team Schubert racer in 9th place, around 17 seconds behind the leading SLS AMG GT3; Schubert’s #20 car was a further 10 positions behind in 19th overall.
