BMW Team Schubert Motorsport was aiming for the win in this year’s edition of the 24 hours of Nurburgring (#N24H). The team had the pace and the best driver line up to grab a historical win, but some unfortunate events stood between them and the win. Car #20 was forced to withdraw very early from the race while car #20 faced many inconveniences but still managed to finish 6th. It is imperative to note that car #20 has been doing blistering lap times at the 2nd half of the race. At some point the Schubert car was lapping an average of 5 sec faster than any other vehicle in the race. The car was forced to attend many unschedule pitstops due to mechanical and body damages.
Preparation for the race was excellent and qualifying was expected. 2 laps into the race the cars were lined in 7th and 8th position respectively. The outcome of the race was not ideal but the fight back to 6th place was epic and demonstrated that the team had the courage and skill to overcome any setback. The team will be fighting hard to win next year, and on the new challenges set ahead of them
