Nicolas Amiouni… dreams of flying with Red Bull wings

Nicolas Amiouni is considered among the young faces in rallying and has successfully managed to etch his name in a very short period of time that is no longer than 3 years, as his stage times show, and the biggest evidence is Red Bull’s support for the young athlete.

Amiouni’s career started in 2004 with Go Karting, he then switched to rallying in 2010.

Whoever follows this driver is aware of his very fast progress, especially that he’s driven on gravel surfaces at several rounds of the Jordanian Rally Championship; he also won the first round of the 2012 season. Therefore, it is not unusual to see him score two second places at the Summer and Cedars Rallies following a retirement at the 29th Spring Rally; this helped him secure a strong position in the Group N and overall championship standings.

Of his 36th Rally of Lebanon participation, he said: “The biggest event of the year kicks off in a couple of days, I feel confident and I can’t wait for the competition to start. As everyone knows, this is my first year as a Red Bull athlete, and I have complete financial support from the Energy drinks company… things are going great so far.”

Amiouni reflected back on his start to the season: “The season started with a big disappointment during the Spring Rally when I picked up a puncture and my engine stalled, which lead to my retirement; and then I managed to win during my first outing in Baabdat, followed by a second overall place and a victory in the Group N class at the Summer Rally.”

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X driver continued: “During the second round of the Lebanese Hillclimb Championship in Falougha, I secured second place in my category, and the same scenario recurred at the Cedars Rally after a tough battle with Gilbert Bannout. During the final round of the Lebanese Hillclimb Championship in Deir El Qamar, I managed to win, which allowed me to carry the Group N trophy.

These achievements have, no doubt, given Amiouni a lot of confidence prior to the Rally of Lebanon, especially now that’s he’s leading the Group N class, and in case things went well, add another title to his Hillclimb title.

Amiouni concluded by saying: “I would like to thank Red Bull for its amazing support and Amiouni Trading for their support since my very first participation in 2010, and last but not least, Motortune Racing team who are like a family to me. I hope I’ll have the championship title the next time we meet.”

Amiouni is a young driver who dreams of flying to the highest peaks with Red Bull wings.
