Salman Abdullah snatches the Red Bull Car Park Drift Bahrain title

Thousands of motorsports enthusiasts headed to the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir,on Friday to witness first hand exceptional drifting skills and exhilarating performances on display during the Red Bull Car Park Drift Bahrain Qualifier 2013. Defending champion Salman Abdullah made history by winning the title of King of Drift for the 4th year in a row after a heated battle between some of the best driving talents in the Kingdom.  Salman along with Gavin Halls who came second, will both represent Bahrain at the Regional Final in Dubai on November 8th 2013.

The event which returned to the BIC for the second consecutive year is sponsored by Chevrolet, Bridgestone and locally supported by Batelco, Arabia Motors and Racer Times. Following his win Salman Abdullah said:  “I was absolutely confident in my car and I am very happy to win again. I look forward to representing the Kingdom in Dubai”.

Abdo Feghali  was judging the event with fellow Red Bull athlete Abdulaziz Turki al Faisal, and local motorsports figures Loay Abdulrahman and Fahad Al Musalam.  The Drift Champion explained the rules and new additions to the contestants and public, which include the Clipping point. Abdo expressed how happy he was to be in Bahrain: “I look foreward to the drift shows tonight and wish all the luck to our participants”.

Bahrain is the penultimate round of the Red Bull Car Park Drift stops before Oman and the regional final in Dubai which will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre during the Dubai International Motorshow. Other qualifiers this year took place in UAE, KSA, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, and Kuwait.
