Citroen’s Mads Ostberg has taken the lead in Rally Mexico, the third round of the 2014 World Rally Championship, after winning two of today’s four morning stages.
Ostberg was up to second place behind Sebastien Ogier by SS2, but the Norwegian went fastest in the ensuing two stages (SS3 and SS4), claiming the lead and maintaining it despite losing out to Ogier on SS5. The pair are now separated by 3.3 seconds after the fifth stage.
In third place lies M-Sport Ford driver Mikko Hirvonen who’s 11 seconds behind the leader, while Volkswagen’s Jari-Matti Latvala is fourth overall, a further 8 seconds off.
