2014 Lebanese Karting Championship – Round 1 Results – DD2

The first round of the DD2 class in the 2014 Lebanese Karting Championship inaugurated this afternoon at the Pit Stop circuit in Zouk, alongside the third round of the Max and Junior categories.

Describing the DD2 karts, Joey Hajj said: “DD2 karts have a two-speed gearbox operated by shift paddle from the steering wheel; they are also direct drive, which means that the axle goes through the engine without need for a chain.”

Patrick Njeim won the first round ahead of newcomer Sari Abou Rahal who showed impressive pace by keeping up with and constantly attacking Njeim throughout the pre-final and final races.

Max class winner Samer Mattar ended up third in his first race on a DD2 kart, while Elias El Hachem and Joey Hajj finished fourth and fifth respectively. Despite being the faster man, Hajj could not move past El Hachem who was determined to keep his position.
