I never thought I would ever say this, but the engine sound of a 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, which I absolutely admire, is miles better than the “tamed” sound of the 2014 Formula 1 cars, arguably the fastest and “loudest” cars on the planet.
Porsche’s 911 GT3 Cup car is powered by a 3.8-liter naturally-aspirated flat-six engine producing 475 horsepower, while Formula 1 cars hide a 1.6-liter turbocharged V6 engine, which proves that the amount of cylinders has nothing to do with noise.
I’m not gonna sit here and complain about the new Formula 1 cars, plenty of people have already done that; I can only allow you to enjoy what a real racing car sounds like by sharing the video below.
