Volkswagen is further pushing the Golf‘s capabilities by introducing the Golf R 400 Concept at the Auto China 2014 this week.
The “400” stands for the 400 horsepower that the Golf R 400 Concept packs in its powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that also puts out 450 Nm of peak torque.
With its 4Motion all-wheel drive system, automatic 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DSG) and 1420 kilogram curb weight, the mighty hatchback can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds on its way to a very impressive 280 km/h top speed.
Visually, the Golf R 400 Concept gets redesigned front and rear bumpers, new 19-inch wheels and an updated interior featuring carbon accents on the dashboard, doors and seats.
