Volkswagen’s Jari-Matti Latvala secured his second victory of the season during Rally Argentina, fifth round of the 2014 World Rally Championship, after a dominant drive that saw him finish more than a minute ahead of teammate Sebastien Ogier.
M-Sport Ford’s Mikko Hirvonen was the fastest man on Sunday, winning all of the day’s stages bar the last one to finish ninth overall, following from his crash on Friday morning.
Ogier struggled to keep up with Latvala and settled for second place overall, with Citroen’s Kris Meeke behind in third place and Volkswagen’s Andreas Mikkelsen fourth after a great comeback from a mechanical failure on Friday. Hyundai’s Thierry Neuville enjoyed a similar comeback to end up fifth overall.
Nasser Al-Attiyah enjoyed a similar comfortable victory in the WRC2, finishing more than 5 minutes ahead of closest pursuer Nicolas Fuchs.
