Max Verstappen secures Toro Rosso seat for 2015

Dutch racing driver Max Verstappen will drive for the Toro Rosso Formula 1 team in 2015 alongside the impressive Daniil Kvyat, thus replacing Frenchman Jean-Eric Vergne in the Italian team.

The 16-year-old Verstappen, son of former grand prix driver Jos, had joined the Red Bull F1 junior programme just last week and has now been officially confirmed as Toro Rosso’s second driver for the upcoming season.

Verstappen, currently competing in the Formula 3 European Championship and is second in the standings, will become the youngest ever driver to be on the F1 grid when he races at the 2015 season opener in Australia. The previous record holder was Jaime Alguersuari, who raced for the first time in Formula 1 at 19 years and 125 days of age, also with Toro Rosso.
