Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton went quickest on the second free practice session for the 2014 Belgian Grand Prix after setting a 1min 49.189sec laptime around Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, with teammate Nico Rosberg finishing second, 0.6 seconds behind. The session was interrupted by two red flags, the first when Pastor Maldonado crashed his Lotus and the second time when Esteban Gutierrez spun his Sauber.
