Al-Attiyah: We are proud of the ATCL

During the Automobile & Touring Club of Lebanon‘s prize-giving ceremony at its headquarters in Kaslik this past, FIA Vice President Nasser Khalifa Al Attiyah was honored by the club for his special role in supporting Lebanese motorsport.

Al-Attiyah: “From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank everyone in this great organization; the ATCL is one of our main focus subjects thanks in the most part to the history of the club – first established in 1919, which has helped it gain a great amount of experience.

“Today, we have to be optimistic about a better future, and we must ignore anything that might negatively affect motorsport in Lebanon or the MENA region by organizing numerous sport events.

“We need to ignore all the political and economic turmoil that the region is currently witnessing; I am personally convinced that the efforts of the ATCL board members will produce a better future.”

Al Attiyah said that the FIA is aware of the political and economic circumstances in Lebanon, and that the country has to adapt to these circumstances and to not let them stand against its ambitions, instead use them as a motivation to organize even more championships, and the best example is the success of Rally of Lebanon 2014
