March 1, 2015 – Pre-season testing for the 2015 Formula 1 world championship season concluded this afternoon with Valtteri Bottas topping the timesheet for Williams.
The Finn posted a 1 minute 23.063 seconds laptime on the super-soft compound, which is 0.041 seconds slower than what Lewis Hamilton had managed yesterday in his soft-shod Mercedes.
Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel was the second fastest driver today, 0.4 seconds behind Bottas; he was followed by the Sauber of Felipe Nasr who clocked the biggest amount of laps in the test with 159.
Nico Rosberg was the second busiest driver today, managing 148 laps in the W06, but completed the day in seventh place, behind the Toro Rosso, Red Bull and Force India respectively.
McLaren and Lotus appeared the least on track today, as the former team posted just 30 laps, while Lotus did 36 laps before Pastor Maldonado heavily crashed the car.
